Rongrong Yu - Head of Chinese

Yu Rongrong is the head of the middle school language teaching and research team at Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Zhejiang University and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Hong Kong. She has taught Chinese in public schools in China, Singapore government schools and bilingual schools, and has 13 years of teaching experience. She has extensive research and practical experience in the Chinese National Language Curriculum, the Cambridge A-level Chinese Language Curriculum and the Singapore O-level Chinese Language Curriculum.

Rongrong has been awarded with honours such as District New Talent in Teaching, Zhejiang Province Outstanding Guide of the Year by Zhejiang Education Newspaper General Association, First Prize in the District New Teacher Reading Report, Second Prize in the District Middle School Language Case Competition, Second Prize in the District Language Quality Class Competition and Third Prize in the District Teaching Topic Paper Competition. She has reported as an individual on her paper “Enhancing Secondary Two Students’ Ability to Write Human Essays through Differential Teaching” at the International Forum on Chinese Language Teaching at the University of Macau. As a member of the reporting panel, she participated in the Singapore North School Cluster Sharing Session on the topic of ‘Improving Students’ Reading Comprehension Response Skills through Formative Assessment and Self-Regulated Learning (SRL)’.

Mr Yu believes that meaningful education nourishes and grows teachers and students together.
