Approach to Learning

At Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science, our mission is to educate young men and women who are well-rounded and ready to make a positive contribution to society.

Inspired by the success of our partner schools, we aim to develop a community where students are exposed to a wealth of experiences, work with teachers and students of diverse backgrounds, and are challenged and supported to excel.

We support each pupil’s development through a foundation of three systems: academic, co-curricular and pastoral.

Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science:
  • Promotes partnerships: our school is a collaborative learning community which partners other schools, values staff, and works with students, families and the local community to promote mutual understanding and development.
  • Extends learning: learning is not confined to books and classrooms. Our students develop through independent learning, from working with others and through participation in activities in the School and the surrounding community.
  • Collaborates: Our integrated curriculum is delivered by a team of Chinese and international teachers who work closely together.
  • Puts the pupil at the centre: Our teachers go beyond subject content and foster the emotional, social and academic development of every child.

Curriculum

Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science provides high-quality education to Chinese and international pupils from three to 18 years old. Lessons take place on a spacious campus, in facilities designed to create a stimulating and exciting learning environment for all age groups. Teachers are encouraged to employ the best of modern international pedagogy, supporting pupils to assume appropriate levels of responsibility for their own learning.

All of our programmes include a variety of teaching methodologies. Our curriculum is designed to encourage pupils to explore and discover. Our aim is to help every pupil reach potential by developing a love of learning and becoming lifelong learners with intellectual curiosity and independent and enquiring minds.
