Mr. Andrew Bunt has been in education for over 20 years. He has a MA in Education: International Schools from Oxford Brookes University, a BSc (Hons) from the University of East London, a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from Exeter University and was awarded a Certificate of International School Leadership by the Principals’ Training Center.

He was the Head of Senior at The British Schools of Montevideo in Uruguay for the last four years. From 2016 until 2019, he was the Head of Secondary at the Myanmar International School Yangon. In 2007, he left the UK to become a Science Teacher at the Colegio Gran Bretaña in Bogotá, Colombia, where he stayed for 9 years. It was here that he was offered his first leadership position as the Deputy Head of Secondary.

Throughout his time as a school leader, there have been a number of school improvements that he is proud of. Some of these achievements include raising educational standards and the improvement of results, the introduction of a Wellbeing department in his previous school, the use of student data to guide differentiated learning, the development of safeguarding procedures and the improvement of the use of assessment. However, he feels his greatest achievement is generating a healthy culture of trust, creating the right conditions for positive change to occur.

He believes in a holistic approach to education, where academic excellence is expected and nurtured, but also where the whole student is catered for. He strives to create a caring learning environment where every student feels safe to express his or her ideas. It is the role of education to encourage a curiosity of the world in all our students. We have the responsibility to develop skills that will prepare our pupils for success in a rapidly changing world. We need to ensure that the students we teach, lead with social-responsibility, empathy, an understanding of the environment and sustainability, an acceptance of differences and a global mindset. He also promotes leadership throughout the school and fundamentally believes that everyone can be successful.
