At King’s College International School, Grade 3 students recently engaged in an extraordinary and delicious adventure known as the Armpit Fudge Experience! Filled with enthusiasm and eager to explore, our young learners dove into this hands-on activity, blending the perfect mix of fun, learning, and creativity. Our classroom buzzed with excitement as students eagerly gathered to craft this delightful treat, merging instructional writing skills with precision in measurements.

Our exploration began with discussions on finding instructions and understanding their importance. Exploring various instructional texts, our students identified essential elements like imperative verbs and time connectives while observing the structural aspects of instructional writing.

Subsequently, students crafted their drafts, incorporating a catchy title, a detailed list of ingredients with precise quantities, and a step-by-step method for creating the treat. Encouraged to utilise the taught features, they later refined their work by enriching vocabulary, perfecting punctuation, and enhancing their compositions.

The culminating moment arrived with the publishing of their work! Students beamed with excitement, showcasing their efforts and experiencing pride as their work adorned our displays.

When reflecting on this experience, students shared their enthusiasm and sense of achievement.
