On a sunny day, October 30th, Karl Gross, Director of Overseas Schools and Deputy Head of King’s College School Wimbledon, John Galloway, Deputy Head of King’s College School, John Javis, Former Chair of the Board of Governors, and Glen W. James from King’s College School Wimbledon International, joined by Dipont Education Group Chairman Huang Yingzi and Dipont Education Group President and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science Benson Zhang, conducted a tree planting ceremony. The General Principal Lin Weimin, Executive Principal Stephen Keown, and all members of the school’s Executive Committee were present at this significant event. The planting of this small tree symbolizes our fundamental mission of “Building Virtues and Enriching People,” while envisioning a bright future ahead.

Promoting the ethos of “Nurturing Minds: Cultivating Growth, One Decade at a Time”

The old adage “It takes ten years to grow a tree, but a hundred years to train a man” has always inspired us. The planting of this oak tree symbolizes Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science’s commitment to education and its responsibility for the growth of its students. Education is a long-lasting business, just like planting a tree, which requires patient watering and careful care. Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science not only fosters student achievement in academics, but also dedicates itself to fostering ethical and responsible citizenship in character education.

Bridging Cultures: Fostering Friendship Across Continents

This ceremony was not only a simple tree planting, but also an exchange and integration of Chinese and Western cultures. The leaders of Dipont Education Group and King’s College School were present to witness this special moment. This small tree carries the symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two schools, representing the friendship between the two schools across thousands of miles and laying a solid foundation for more educational exchanges in the future.

Bridging Cultures: Fostering Friendship Across Continents

We eagerly anticipate the thriving and verdant growth of the tree when members of the leadership from King’s College School return to our institution. Concurrently, we aspire to cultivate the quintessential principles of Chinese and Western educational concepts, fostering the flourishing development of our students as future global leaders who will make remarkable contributions to society’s advancement.
