Good news from the competition: 22 individual awards and 1 group award were won, with a 100% success rate. Our school achieved a great success in the English and American math competitions.

At the beginning of March, two pieces of good news came from the United Kingdom and the United States: our students achieved good results in both the American Mathematics Competition AMC8 and the UK Mathematics Trust Intermediate Mathematical Challenge (UKMT-IMC)!

The AMC is organized by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). It originated in 1950 and currently has more than 300,000 students from over 6,000 schools worldwide participating in the competition each year. It is one of the most influential thinking challenge activities for young people worldwide and has become a popular option for Chinese students to cultivate interest, prove their logical thinking abilities, and apply for American universities.

The UKMT-IMC is a mid-level mathematical thinking challenge organized by the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT). It is an activity that evaluates the mathematical abilities of British students and expands their mathematical thinking.

Summary of awards for AMC8 and UKMT-IMC:

A total of 22 individual awards and 1 group award were won, and the results were among the best in the country’s schools. In the UKMT-IMC, two 8th-grade students, Zheng Jiayu and Zheng Jiayi, advanced to the CMO and successfully entered the next stage of the challenge!

This competition had participants from grades 5-10, including students who had been participating in math clubs for a long time and students who loved math and were challenging themselves for the first time. We hope that our students will continue to work hard and achieve more in their future math studies and academic competitions. We also hope that more students will participate, bravely challenge themselves, and enjoy the fun of math.
