Moonlight Shining Together, Home in Harmony

In the warm and joyful atmosphere of the International Department, teachers, students, and parents gathered together against the backdrop of a full moon to capture this memorable and heartwarming moment with a meaningful group photo activity. This event not only cherishes the time spent together but also deeply engraves the beautiful memories of the future. It reflects the strong emotional bonds among every member of our International Department family and the appreciation for our shared experiences. In that moment of pressing the shutter, this instant becomes a precious memory that transcends time and space, to be preserved and shared for years to come.

Hou Yi Shooting the Suns, Cultural Heritage

Based on the ancient myth of “Hou Yi Shooting the Suns,” the teachers designed a role-playing game that combines fun and education. As the game began, the children were eager to participate, excitedly vying for the chance to experience the thrill of Hou Yi’s adventure. They crafted arrows, drew bows, aimed, and launched… With each sun that fell, cheers of joy erupted from the children on the field. It’s believed that through this game, the children not only experienced happiness but also felt the bravery and wisdom of the ancients, deepening their understanding of traditional Chinese culture.

Puzzle Paradise, Wisdom Sets Sail

Senior students carefully selected and designed culturally rich word puzzles, inviting younger students and parents to participate in the guessing game. To accommodate the Chinese language proficiency of foreign children, the students also created English word puzzles. Throughout the activity, children of all ages found puzzles suitable for them, and with the help of their older peers, they succeeded in multiple challenges, earning many medals and displaying confident, satisfied smiles. This event not only tested the cultural knowledge of Chinese characters among students from different backgrounds but also sparked their interest in exploring the art of language, promoting knowledge exchange and sharing across age groups. In organizing this activity, senior students enhanced their skills in planning, information selection and dissemination, and social interaction.

Amidst the Lantern Lights, We Build Dreams Together

Children and their parents participated in a culturally rich and creatively engaging activity—making handcrafted lanterns. The lanterns in their hands, diverse in shape and vibrant in color, created a miniature visual feast.

There were traditional styles like round, square, and hexagonal, as well as innovative designs featuring animals, flowers, and even abstract patterns. Bold color combinations of red and green, blue and yellow created a strong visual impact and festive atmosphere, while soft, delicate gradient tones showcased a gentle and elegant beauty.

The lanterns in the children’s hands are not only a beautiful highlight of the festival celebration but also a vivid embodiment of the fusion of traditional Chinese culture and modern creativity, showcasing the rich imagination and creativity of the Chinese nation.

This activity not only fostered emotional exchanges between parents and children but also deepened participants’ understanding and appreciation of the traditional craft of lantern making. Through hands-on practice, the children experienced the joy and significance of traditional festivals, strengthening their connection to Chinese culture.

Reunion Under the Moon, Mooncakes Convey Affection

Mooncakes, an essential traditional delicacy of the Mid-Autumn Festival, symbolize reunion and completeness with their round shape, representing the warmth and happiness of family gatherings. On this festive night, people, no matter where they are, express their longing for home and loved ones, with mooncakes serving as an important medium for this emotional connection. Additionally, mooncakes embody people’s aspirations for a better life and reflect the optimistic spirit of the Chinese nation, striving for harmonious coexistence.

As children savor mooncakes, they share amusing stories from school with teachers and parents, enhancing understanding and closeness. Teachers take this opportunity to observe students’ growth and convey care and hope, while parents appreciate the school’s emphasis on traditional culture and its commitment to holistic student development.

This mooncake tasting event is not only a journey for the taste buds but also a heartfelt encounter, deepening emotional bonds among teachers, students, and parents while enjoying tradition and delicious food.

The Mid-Autumn cultural celebration, titled “A Full Moon at Mid-Autumn, Building Reunion Dreams Together,” featured a series of thoughtfully designed activities that allowed participants to deeply experience the traditional essence of the festival. Moreover, it subtly promoted cultural transmission, deepened education, and elevated familial bonds, showcasing a high level of professionalism and educational value. The children were not just participating in a traditional activity; they were inheriting a culture and promoting a spirit, reflecting the love and commitment of the International Department students to outstanding Chinese traditional culture.
