Rok Hozjan has more than 10 years of music teaching experience. He started out his teaching career while still attending Academy of Music in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He holds a title Professor of Music degree in music education. He started his teaching career as a piano and music theory teacher at music school Logatec, Slovenia in 2009. Since 2014 he worked at Pionirski dom Ljubljana (biggest Slovenian centre for youth culture and extracurricular activites)  as a piano teacher, music theory teacher, band and vocal ensemble mentor. In 2017 he also started working as a class music teacher and a piano teacher at Montessori Akademija Ljubljana. He also held various masterclasses for students aged 6-18 across his home country. In August 2019 he moved to China working as music teacher and Head of music at RDFZ King’s College School Hangzhou.

Rok is very experienced in professional performance. Besides music education he studied jazz double bass in conservatory of music in Klagenfurt, Austria. He performed in various ensembles ranging from pop-rock bands, to big bands, chamber groups, string, wind and symphonic orchestras. He is an active member of a tango quintet Piazzolleky with which he toured across Europe and China in 2017. Piazzolleky was one of the main acts of China International Art Festival 2017, performing in Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuxi… in the late 2018 and early 2019 he was touring China with Salzburg Philharmonie Orchestra performing series new year concerts in Hangzhou Theatre, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Beijing Parliament,…

His lifelong dedication to music is a combination of performing and passing the knowledge gained with hands on experience to students of all ages.
